VIBRATION ISOLATORS

SL & SM – “HOUSED SPRINGS”

SL and SM vibration isolators are produced in technological cooperation with KINETICS NOISE CONTROL, being "housed" (with housing), with high deflection springs, designed with an adjustable device to limit vertical movement when starting or stopping the supported equipment.

SL - HOUSED SPRINGS

Available with deflection up to 47 mm (1.84 ") and load capacity from 16 to 1588 kg (35 to 3,500 lbs).

SM - HOUSED SPRINGS

Available with deflection up to 46 mm (1.79 ") and load capacity from 113 to 2,676 kg (250-5900 lbs).

Description:

Consist of spring vibration isolators with high deflection, housing, seated on the floor or on an elevated structure, with adjustment device for limiting the vertical movement. Formed by steel springs with good lateral stability, epoxy paint (1000 hour salt spray rating per ASTM B-117), color-coded according to their deflection and load capacity, mounted within a housing made of cast iron or aluminum, with neoprene sponge to prevent friction between the metallic upper and lower vertical guides of the housing and also to increase the effect of "damping" of the vertical movement. The SM model has an adjustable "damping" of the vertical movement, increasing or decreasing the pressure on the neoprene foam mattresses separating the vertical guides.

The base is coated at the bottom by a "pad" (mattress) of rubber, ¼ " thick, to prevent transmission of structural noise. Optionally, it can be supplied with internal leveling "pads", acoustic, manufactured in molded fiberglass. Depending on the type of fastening or fitting of the equipment on the vibration isolator, the recomended models can be:

SL or SM - When the equipment has holes for screwing the isolator and superior and inferior access to the fixing screw to adjust the equipment level.

SLI or SMI - When the equipment is just sitting on the flat top surface of the isolator and not screwed. In this case a leveling device is inserted inside the isolator with external access.

SLP or SMP - When the equipment is seated on the flat top surface of the isolator with a centering pin for fixing the horizontal position. The leveling device is also inside in this case.

Applications:

SL and SM vibration isolators are normally used to isolate vibrations of mechanical industrial machinery, installed on the floor or hung on a supporting structure, which is required more "damping" and where tolerance of vertical mobility is less than the typical applications of "freestanding" isolators type. They are recommended for the isolation of vibration produced by equipments with speeds greater than 1200 rpm, installed on the floor, in slabs or structures where the distance between supports is short.

Technical specifications of SL and SM vibration isolators:

SL and SM are vibration isolators with "housed" type springs, composed of steel spring, cast iron housing or aluminum, with neoprene sponge as spacer between the lateral vertical guides, in order to avoid shock or friction between metals and damping the vertical movement. The base is covered by a "pad" of neoprene, noise isolation, with a thickness of ¼ "and has holes for mounting on the floor or supporting structure. The model SM has adjustable side plates to allow better stability to the isolator and better damping adjustment of vertical motion. The springs have lateral resistance higher than vertical resistance, providing great stability to the assembly and are dimensioned to resist overload of 50% of the rated capacity. Are color-coded according to the load and deflection, can be identified this way in the design and in the field.
