Fiberglass Isolator

Model AF fiberglass isolation hangers are especially designed as a noise stop isolator for use in suspended systems supported by cables, including ceiling systems and light ducts. These hangers are a unique combination of inorganic glass fibers permanently compressed and mounted with galvanized sheets. This creates an essentially non-corrosive combination for use in commercial environments and general construction. Galvanized wires can be used to attach directly the RF model to the object it will support and to the eyelets on the structure.

Model AF hanger is basically available in three load capacities:

• Model AF-50 load capacity up to 50 lbf (23 kgf) to very light loads;

• Model AF-100 load capacity up to 100 lbf (45 kgf), for light loads;

• Model AF-200 load capacity up to 200 lbf (91 kgf) for medium loads;

Application

The model AF hanger is recommended for use in acoustically isolated floating ceilings or light pipes and ducts. Acoustically isolated ceilings and light pipes can be supported by AF hangers to block the high frequency transmitted by the support structure caused by equipment such as transformers, chillers, and other sources in the audible frequency band. Heavier ceilings may use the AF hangers to increase the loss of sound transmission. AF hangers are supplied fully assembled and ready for use.

Specifications:

Hangers shall consist of a resilient element of compressed inorganic fiberglass contained in a reinforced galvanized steel suport designed so that there is no short circuit.

It can be fixed directly at supporting cables or metal wires or bolted with screws and nuts of ¼' diameter. The isolating glassfiber, molded and composed of fibers produced by a multiple flame attenuation process which generates nominal fiber diameters not exceeding 0.00022" (5.6 microns) and stabilized by precompression 3 to 10 times the maximum rated load of the used material. The enveloping structure of galvanized pre-shaped sheet shall resist 5 times the rated maximum load of the assembly without disruption or failure. The isolators shall be the AF models as manufactured by Kinetics Noise Control and marketed exclusively in Brazil by SOMAX & Environmental Acoustics Ltda.
